State-of-Health(SOH) indicates a remained capacity and the performance of Lithium-Ion Battery.There are a lot of factors decrease the performance of the battery such as normal ageing, hightemperature operation, rapid current charging and others. However, only limited variables areavailable for measuring that make difficult to direct estimation of SOH. The SOH estimation methodbased on reduced electrochemical cell model is developed to on-line application. This model consistsof semi-empirical model and equivalent circuit model. Moving-horizon parameter estimation methodwas adopted to minimize error of parameter for semi-empirical model. The results of SOH estimationby model are compared to experiment results under various driving patterns and conditions of lithiumionbattery for HEV and PHEV. Consequently, the accuracy is high enough for applied to batterymanagement system in HEV and PHEV as real time on-line SOH estimation.
