Low density polyethylene (LDPE) was mixed with various volume fractions of nickel coatedcarbon fiber (NCF) and nickel nanostrands (NiNS) in order to create a conductive compositematerial. Some of these mixtures were compression molded while others were injection moldedand then tested for conductivity as well as tensile and impact strength. It was found that mixingNiNS into the polymer, in addition to NCF, created a more conductive material than using NCFalone. While NCF provided the greatest portion of the conductivity in these materials, it was alsoshown that the contribution of the NiNS to conductivity was greater for shorter NCF.
