摘要

Ship detection with constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detection is a key problem in skywave radar. This paper proposes a robust two-parameter CFAR detector for ship detection in nonhomogeneous Weibull distributed clutter, where the scale parameter is estimated by the weighted amplitude iteration (WAI) of samples in the reference window and the shape parameter is calculated using the empirical formula related to the scale parameter. Considering that the detection process of skywave radar is performed in the range Doppler (RD) map, a cross-shape window with greatest-of method is applied in this paper. The superiority of the proposed CFAR detector, which is applicable to the nonstationary and heterogenous Weibull distributed clutter, is investigated and verified by simulations and experimental data.
