Autonomous optical buffer system consisting of cascaded fiber delay lines for synchronous packets

Optical buffer system autonomously controlled for synchronous packets is proposed. It consists of cascaded buffer modules and a discard module. The buffering is controlled by optical signals using labels. The performance is numerically evaluated.
