STUDY ON THE COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY PATTERNS AND SPACE PLANNING FOR TERMINAL BUILDING OF OFF-SHORE-ISLAND AIRPORT

The off-shore-island airport is as the transfer center of regional travelers, also regionaleconomic development role are gradually important. These practical problems still littletheory to apply for activities planning and allocation for commercial space of terminalbuilding. Therefore, this study based on intelligent technologies, leisure and commercialconcepts and applied the feasible allocation model of commercial space at airportterminal building. This paper proposes questionnaire and evaluate the allocations ofcommercial activity patterns between passengers and investors’ demand, also considerscommercial space constraints, and passengers’ walking and waiting time between gatesand commercial shop. Meanwhile, this paper applied mathematics programming modelto evaluate alternative solutions and tools for airport management. The model discussedhow to choose which commercial activities and spaces to be satisfied with passenger’sactivities and investors’ needs, also evaluate which space to be saving energy andfriendly, security, and transfer convenience. The objectives function of model considerthe existing renters’ will of commercial shop, integrated passengers and investors will,only oriented passengers’ will, and only oriented investors’ will to compose six scenarioalternatives. The outcomes show priorities difference between passengers and investors,meanwhile, the alternative of integrated passengers’ and investors’ will is best solution.
