PARTIAL REPLACEMENT REPAIRING METHOD FOR AGED STEEL BOX-GIRDER BRIDGE AND ITS APPLICABILITY

This paper provides available information for partial replacement repairing method of theaged steel box-girder bridge and its applicability in site. Safety and weldilability of repairwelded joints between the aged and the new steel plates are key factor regarding reliability ofthe repair method. The tensile and the fatigue tests of the repair welded joints forSWS41(aged steel)-SM400B(new steel) and SWS41-SM490B(new steel) are achieved. Thetensile and fatigue performances of the repair welded joints shows enough capacities as astructural connection as well as properly applicability to the aged steel box-girder bridge.
