ADVANCED AND INTEGRATED NEW TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM ON TOKYO METROPOLITAN EXPRESSWAY

摘要

Metropolitan Expressway Co., Ltd has renewed integrated traffic control systems by using thestate-of-the-art technology, in order to provide real-time information to drivers. On the TokyoMetropolitan Expressway, there are approximately 1,110,000 daily traffics and about 30-40accidents per day, and 24-hours traffic control and management are conducted. For the safe,smooth and comfortable drive of users, integrated and speedy traffic control and managementare required. This paper states the concepts of new traffic control system and describes newfacilities installed. Metropolitan Expressway Co., Ltd has started new improved services onproviding information. These new services are also presented in this paper.
