摘要

In this paper, an efficient sparse structure is derived for digital filters. This structure is actually an improved version of the one reported in [13] but much simpler for implementation. The performance of this structure is analyzed and the corresponding expression of roundoff noise gain is obtained. It is shown that the proposed structure is free of limit cycles. An example is presented to demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed sparse structure to several well-known structures in terms of minimizing the finite word length effects that ultimately can not be avoided in real-time applications.
