A method of multi-source SST conformance evaluation is presented in this paper, which is not only valuable for significant areas lack of site measurement but also multi-satellite remote sensing. Consensus evaluation among multi-source data is the only way to get the credibility without field measurement. A Weighted Joint Probability Distribution (WJPD) can quantify the degree of consensus among multi-source SST data. In addition to the virtue that flexible regulation can be realized to distinguish different types of conflicts, WJPD can detect false alarms and serious conflicts that can't be found by other methods. WJPD is used to process SST data from eleven sensors in the coastal areas of east China in 2006. Therefore, this paper confirms a large number of highly consistent points, identifies failure data, and finds controversial areas which deserve further research.
