The Challenges of Establishing and Managing an Office in Angola

This paper discusses the growth of the West African energy industry from the perspective of a growing company seeking to establish itself as a stable player in the market. Without the resources of a major international operator, an independent engineering services company offers advice regarding the logistical, cultural, and economic challenges of establishing an operating base, a functional office, and eventually a stable presence in Luanda, Angola, a developing nation emerging from 27 years of civil war.
