ldquoIn siturdquo methods to detect current radar antenna degradations in time and keep their operational capabilities at the optimum capability, has particular interest, because air traffic is increasing rapidly and the radars are aging. However it is difficult to distinguish radar environmental propagation and scattering phenomena from measures of the degraded antenna patterns determined by ldquoin siturdquo measurements. A powerful test tool and method is required to carry out this task and to keep current ground based radar net in its highest performance specification, which is desired to guarantee aviation safety to the maximum extent. This paper wishes to give the key points of the reflections and multipath interference determination and mitigation from the System Performance Checks (SPC) applied for Ground Based Radars. The results demonstrate some improvements in the data evaluation process that can be used for identifying reflection, multipath and to investigate anomalies in the feed structure of phased array.
