Pure silk fibroin (SF), pure cellulose acetate (CA) and their blend nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning and their morphology and mechanical properties were investigated. It was found that electrospun SF/CA blends were modified with different content of CA in electrospun fibers. The electrospun SF/CA blend nanofibers with the content of CA less than 10% were fine and uniform. Their mechanical properties varied with different content of CA in electrospun fibers. Electrospinning of SF/CA blends give the possibility of producing new materials for potential filter.
