A novel macroano blended nonwoven with excellent mechanical properties was prepared by electrospinning polyurethane (PU) nanofibers onto the surface of ramie webs under different concentration of PU solution. The concentration of PU solution has great influence on the diameter, morphology and tensile properties of PU nanofibers and ramie-PU blend nonwovens. PU nanofibers with uniform and straight structure can be prepared with 10 wt% and show the best tensile properties. However the tensile properties of the blended nonwovens with this concentration are the worst. The blended nonwovens show the best tensile properties when PU concentration is 8 wt%.
