@@Selenium (Se) is essential for the basic functions of life.Its deficiency can lead to a few diseases in human beings.Diet is the major source of daily intake of Se for the general population.Food Se content is highly dependent on the soil Se level,which varies geographically between and within countries or regions (Dumont et al.,2006).For this reason,it is important to determine the Se content in different foods and to estimate the daily dietary intake of Se in each country.
