Laminar Flame Speeds of Methane, Ethane, and Methane/Ethane Mixtures at Elevated Pressures

Spherical, freely expanding laminar flames of methane, ethane, and methane/ethane (80/20) were measured using the constant volume bomb technique at pressures up to 5 atm and equivalence ratios ranging from 0.7 to 1.3. Optical cine-photography was provided via a Z-type schlieren setup and a high-speed camera (2000 fps). Measurements are compared against other studies, and modeling was performed using GRI 3.0.
