Lipid Nanoparticles Improved the Oral Absorption of Edelfosine

In the present work, the potential of lipidnanoparticles for improving the oral absorption of theantitumor drug edelfosine was verified. Thesenanosystems have shown to increase the relativebioavailability of edelfosine from less than 10 % to almost43 %. Biodistribution studies revealed an accumulation ofedelfosine in excretion organs as well as in brain tissue.
