The viscoelastic properties of chitosan-thioglycolic acid conjugate

Viscoelastic properties of chitosan thioglycolic acidconjugate (chitosan-TGA) in the presence of fouroxidizing agents were investigated by rheologicalmeasurements. Within 20 min, due to the addition ofhydrogen peroxide in a final concentration of 25.2 nmol/Lto 1% (m/v) chitosan-TGA the dynamic viscosity wasmore than 16,000-fold increased compared to otheroxidizing agents. These excellent in situ gelling propertiesmight be useful for various applications such as for tissueengineering.
