Gold nanorods have strong surface plasmon band atnear near-infrared light region, and used as a photothermalconverter converter. Since the . Near near-infrared light penetrates intotissues deeply without causing damage damage, it has beenexpected as a photosensitizer for photothermal therapyand functional device for drug deli delivery system respondingvery to near near-infrared light irradiation irradiation. In this study, to achievetar targeted delivery of the nanorods to specific site, twogeted systems were constructed. One is poly poly(N (N-isopropylacrylamide) gel gel-modified gold nanorods thatrespond to the light I irradiation, and the other is rradiation, PEG PEG-peptide peptide-modified gold naorods that respond to proteaseactivity, which is specifically expressed in tumor. Thelight irradiation and protease activity could convertsurface of the gold nanorods to hydrophobic. Thesemodifie modified gold nanorods are expected as functionald nanodevices for photothermal therapy and drug deliverysystem.
