The large landslide by a volume 1 million m3 took place on a brown-coal strip mine "Urtysky" in March 3-4, 2004. Analysis of the vertical and horizontal deformation development captured by mine survey, allows making a conclusion, that the strain characterizes impartially a condition of a slope massif and represents total parameter of all descending inside processes. It is offered to use critical value of relative deformation as a criterion for the estimation of section stability. The formation of a landslide is built into a definite phase of a space rhythm constituent of which is a relative position of the Sun, moon, planets, asteroids and the Earth. The active development of a landslide took place in the phase of growing Moon, when the water rising is observed including water lifting through tectonic fissures. High coal and rocks watering, reduction of rock resistance to land slide for 20-30 % and activating of suffusion processes contributed to landslide initiation.
