Kaizen events are focused and structured projects aimed at rapid and dramatic improvements. To analyze theperformance of Kaizen event teams considering business performance and human resource outcomes, a multi-outcomemodel is developed using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to measure the relative efficiency of teamswith multiple inputs and multiple outputs. The DEA model determines team efficiencies and identifies the bestpractice teams among 51 Kaizen events from six organizations. The results from the multi-outcome model arecompared to those from single outcome models. The multi-outcome model appears to provide more holistic resultsthan the single outcome models and still retains the power to discriminate between team efficiencies.
