Separation of Individual Operation Signals fromMixed Sensor Measurements

Sensor system measurements are generally mixed signals from multiple independent/dependent operationsembedded in a system. In this paper, a new method is developed to estimate the independent/dependent sourcesignals from the linear mixed sensor signals by integrating the Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and theSparse Component Analysis (SCA). A case study is conducted in a multiple operation forging process, whichdemonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed methods in separating individual operation signals from the mixedsensor measurements.
