Measuring Research and Development Performance

摘要

This is a case study of a twenty two member consortium effort to construct a performance measurement system fornon-profit public and private organizations conducting basic and applied research. Organizational measures weredeveloped by each member. A core of common measures were collected and shared anonymously every month. Aperformance dashboard was created to track performance over time and a database of best practices is beingassembled to improve performance. The case includes process steps taken to develop both the measures and thereporting system.
