Water-management strategies at the Olympic rowing and canoeing venue Virgilio Uribe in Mexico City

@@ Introduction In 1968, the Olympic Rowing Venue was built. The site consists of two channels with an average depth of 1.7 m, the principal channel measuring 2200 m length and 125 m width, whereas the side-channel measures 1200 x 30 m. Due to a lack of knowledge concerning maintenance of the site, the water quality had deteriorated. Cyanobacterial blooms and scum cover the site during parts of the year.
