摘要

Ball screws are part of most drive shafts for electric injection molding machines. Their dimensioning following ISO 3408 does not take into account the abrasive wear nor the specific load profile and accelerations of the injection molding process; this leads to highly imprecise lifespan predictions. In this work an alternative method of calculating the lifespan that considers abrasive wear and experimental results are presented.
