In this research, there are five kinds of bamboo which were impregnated in various solid composition of phenol-formaldehyde resin (PF), respectively. The loading yields of PF depended on the different density of the various kinds of bamboo. The woodceramics were obtained by sintering bamboo material impregnated with phenol-formaldehyde (PF) resin without oxygen. from 50°C to 1100°C in 5°C/min. Moreover, the correlations between the carbide yields of material and the loading yields of PF are direct proportion. Results show that the shrinkage ratio for the weight of the bamboo have a positive relationship with the loading yields of PF. Owing to the high carbonization temperature, the woodceramics would conduct electricity, whose electric resistance was smaller than 20 Ω/cm. Further, the woodceramic is a lot of porous material which resulted in the strong adsorbability. Evaluation of the adsorption capacity of woodceramic saturated with pollutants removal (color, total organic carbon, heavy metal, and suspended solids). In this study, water samples from treatment process of wooceramics were collected and analyzed to assess the variations in concentrations water quality indicators. These findings would be helpful in designing a modified water treatment system for contamination removal and water quality improvement.
