摘要

In this study, the effectiveness of density and heat treatment on the physico-mechanical properties of unidirectional round bamboo stick boards (UBSBs) made of Makino bamboo (Phyllostachys makinoi) was investigated. The result revealed that the density profiles of all UBSBs with various densities were uniform, and most of their properties increased with increasing density up to 1000 kg/m(3). By increasing heat treatment temperature, the thickness swelling and water absorption of the UBSBs significantly decreased. Additionally, the UBSB with 155 degrees C heat-treated bamboo sticks exhibited the best mechanical properties among all UBSBs, and then it decreased as the heat treatment temperature increased further.
