The interactions of activated carbon surfaces with concentrated salt solutions (LiCl, NaCl, KCl, KBr, KI, CH_3COOLi, CH_3COONa, and CH_3COOK) are explored for a microporous carbon with few acidic surface groups in an attempt to explain why some salts are attracted to the carbon surface while others are repelled.
