Laser technology and applications 2012: a preview

The research and technical achievements in the area of lasers are summarized every three years by the NationalSymposium on Laser Technology held in the Baltic See Resort ?winouj?cie near Szczecin, Poland. The paper presentsa preview of the symposium works to be shown and debated during this key event in September 2012. There are showndevelopment tendencies of laser materials and technologies and laser associated branches of optoelectronics in thiscountry, including the efforts of academia, governmental institutes, research businesses and industry. The secondbranch of the symposium works are laser applications, where the laser systems operators and laser users present theirachievements.
