摘要

Safety assessment can be implemented using different tools during processdesign stage. As part of this assessment, the implementation ability and the flexibility ofthe tools are of great concern. In this paper, a new user-friendly approach using Petrinets as modelling and implementation tool has been presented. Inherent safetymethodology is used to assess the safety level of different process options and I2SIindexing system is employed to quantify safety factors. The applicability of this tool isdemonstrated through revisiting an aclyric acid production case study taken fromliterature.
