High Throughput PU Mixing Head with Integrated Device for Solid Filler Dosing

The new developed PU mixing head of DESMA is designed to handle a throughput of 1000 gr/sec and is equipped with the unique DESMA filler dosing technology which is metering solid additives directly into the mixing chamber as a separate stream beside the liquids Polyol, Isocyanate and liquid additives. The challenge within this development has been the scale up of the existing technology which is established for more than a decade in the industrial production. The dimension of this technology is quite new and improves in an impressive way the discontinuous and the continuous production possibilities. New plants are equipped for the production of slabstock foams or rigid blockfoams for industrial construction walls and preproduction for later sectional blockfoams. Additionally this technology can be used for casting processes into open cavities. There are applications like coolers, furniture, covers for industrial and consumer applications. The main targets are: 1. Reduction of Production Costs 2. reuse and recycling of PU waste 3. reduction of equipment maintenance costs 4. improvement of article properties
