This paper outlines a large scale worker assignment/training problem experienced by a large governmentmaintenance/refurbishment facility. The proposed application is a multi-objective decision support system toaddress this assignment problem. The first phase quickly generates a list of initial solutions. The decision maker(DM) chooses one of these solutions to carry into the second phase. The second phase allows the DM to iterativelycompromise certain objectives for the benefit of others. This allows the DM to approach the preferred solutionwithout the use of subjective weights for the objective functions.
