摘要

Despite the interest in subjects dealing with Earth and Earth Sciences, when Physics concepts are concerned all sorts of difficulties arise. An initiative to elucidate Physics concepts and to motivate students for the study of Science and Technology has been carried out in Portugal through the use of Remote Sensing and its applications. These activities, firmly rooted in a process-oriented approach, follow the curricula defined for each school grade in the area of the Earth Sciences, with the purpose of introducing and consolidating primary scientific concepts and developing students' natural interest and curiosity in studying natural phenomena, climate change and diverse geophysical processes. The study of satellites, sensors and data acquisition, data and image analysis among other products reveals to be an extraordinary way of motivating students to Science and to increment Scientific Literacy among undergraduate students.
