The cable anchorage zone is an important part in the tower of a cable-stayed bridge since it is subjected to a large amount of concentrated tendon force. The force may cause serious local cracks which are harmful to the bridge's health and safety. In design stage, general beam and plane analysis can hardly reflect its actual working status and carrying capacity. In this paper, integrated method was adopted with model test and numerical analysis to evaluate the safety of anchorage zone. A full scale segmental model test was described, including its procedure, items and results. The prestressing effect of the anchorage zone design was checked and the cracking load, ultimate load were given by the model test. Further more, results of spatial finite element analysis were presented. Contrastive study between results of test and theoretic analysis has revealed rather fine accordance.
