Extracorporeal Elimination of Liposomes used in Cancer Chemotherapy

Therapeutic success is often limited by severe adverse effects. Particle based drug delivery systems like liposomes can be eliminated out of human plasma by apheresis technology. Extracorporeal elimination of excess drug delivery particles after accumulation in the target tissue may lead to new therapy regimens with less toxicity.
