Performance of Degradable Polyester Block Copolymers as Drug-Eluting Stent Coatings

We have investigated novel ether/ester multi-block copolymers as coatings for drug eluting stents. We assessed 1) the controlled release of anti-inflammatory drugs, 2) the rates of degradation, and 3) the mechanical properties of the coatings. Our results indicate that these block copolymers are well suited to drug eluting stent applications.
