Various methods were utilized for the PEGylation of PLA or PLGA nanoparticles. Copolymers were prepared by ring-opening polymerization onto HO-PEG-COOH, or conjugation of NH2-PEG-COOH to PLGA before or after nanoparticle preparation. Spherical nanoparticles of about 200-250nm were prepared, and were easily conjugated to a model targeting peptide.
