The immune responses following transcutaneous immunization of BALB/c mice with OVA-loaded PLA nanospheres were investigated. Cholera Toxin adjuvant was co-administered with the nanospheres in some experiments. The anti-OVA total IgG, IgGl and IgG2a were measured in the serum samples and culture supernatants from spleen cells, stimulated in vitro with OVA, were assayed for IFN-γ, IL-4, and IL-10 secretion. The PLA nanospheres loaded with the antigen were capable of inducing immune responses following transcutaneous application in mice.
