The Evolving Joint Perspective and Meta-systems Theory: A Case Study based on the Joint Vision Document: Moving from a Systems View to a Meta-systems View of the Evolving Joint Perspective

The Evolving Joint Perspective document which was the precursor to the current Capstone Concept for Joint Operations was analyzed in relation to Meta-systems Theory in this case study which was done in the 2004 timeframe. The basic thrust of the new document is the same as the original document so this analysis is considered to still be relevant. Meta-systems theory is proposed as a basis for Joint Forces organization. Currently the theory that is the basis of both documents is Complex Adaptive Systems Theory. The emphasis here is on the dual of that which would be Complex Adaptive Meta-systems Theory. Both Systems and Meta-systems Theories are said to be needed to have a complete theory for Joint Operations of Joint Forces.
