A group of Cu-Au deposits occurs in the Zijinshan area, which includes a sequence of mineralized and altered zones characteristic ofporphyry-epithermal mineralization systems. Outward from the central granodiorite porphyry stock, there appears in turn the Zhongliao porphyry copper deposit, Wuziqilong copper deposit, Longjiangting mesothermai poly-metallic deposit, Zijinshan high-sulfidation epithermal Au-Cu deposit, and Bitian low-sulfidation epithermal Ag-Au-Cu deposit. Fluid inclusion studies as well as age determinations show an ongoing evolution of ore-forming fluid from magmatic water at the core of the system to meteoric water at the fringes, and corresponding to the variation of mineralization types.
