A fast fingerprint identification pre-processing algorithm is proposed in this paper, it solves difficult to ensuring speediness and accuracy with adopting fingerprint identification in customary fingerprint identification system. This algorithm has the fine enhancement effect to the polluted fingerprint images,and can not only enhance the ridges and valleys of a fingerprint image, but also mark up the valid and invalid fingerprint ranges, so it has faster speed and higher accuracy in fingerprint identification.
