The potential hazard to the pressurized module on orbit from space debris has being paid attention. The purpose in this paper was to report our work on debris protection design to improve impact performance of the pressurized module, including hypervelocity impact experiment and impact failure risk assessment results. MODAOST, developed as a meteoroid and debris risk assessment tool, was adopted to assess the effect of the design. Two methods was used to improve the protection performance of the pressurized module, one with added shielding plate, and the other with redesigned configuration of radiator. So, two kinds of samples were impacted at hypervelocity range and ballistic performance was analysized. The result showed the design scheme is feasible. Mounted with shielding plates, the survival probability of the pressurized module is satisfied.
