A method using the Schwarz-Christoffel transformation is presented in order to model a doubly-connected source-free two-dimensional domain. The method is cost-effective and can be applied to simulate field regions characterized by irregularly-shaped boundaries. The analysis of an electrostatic micromotor has been developed as a case study; in particular, the friction effect caused by the radial displacement of the rotor during its motion has been simulated.
