Heterogeneity and Loosely Coupled Systems in Electromagnetic Device Analysis

We describe the construction of a system for integrating heterogeneous software analysis tools, allowing them to collaborate automatically on the solution of large analysis problems, particularly problems involving coupling between different areas of physics, such as thermodynamics, mechanics, and electromagnetics. Key features of this system include its software framework and the control techniques that it uses. Our tests show that the system is able to effectively achieve loose coupling between heterogeneous analysis tools on practical problems.
