It is a pleasure to welcome you in the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam for the 10th edition of the ACM MobileHCI conference. This year's conference continues the MobileHCI tradition of discussing advances on Human- Computer Interaction with Mobile Devices and Services. It covers the analysis, design, evaluation and application of human-computer interaction techniques and approaches for all mobile computing devices, software and services. Starting in Scotland in 1998, the event has grown into an annual international conference with the most recent events being held in Finland and Singapore. And without saying too much, after ten years MobileHCI has become a research area well-known for its multidisciplinary nature. >We are proud to invite you in Amsterdam and in the Royal Tropical Institute in particular. The institute is famous for her international and intercultural cooperation. This cultural diversity is also reflected by the MobileHCI 2008 participants; this year more than 30 different countries are represented. With 33% of all submissions from outside Europe, MobileHCI has become a true global event for the mobile user-system interaction community.
