Risk is related to uncertainty of potential events. Entropy is defined as the measure of uncertainty of a system. In underground engineering, one of definitions of risk is the probability of an event occurring. So, using entropy theory for risk measurement is a good way to evaluate the probability of a hazard in geotechnical risk system. In this paper based on the real practice of risk assessment and the difficulty in quantitative risk measurement, the interval entropy measurement method has been put forward. As an example, the risk of a shield tunnelling in construction stage is evaluated and determined using proposed method. In the end some conclusions had been drawn as well.
