摘要

We use an ensemble method to study the impact of perturbations of atmospheric forcing fields on the ocean surface layers, as simulated by an eddy-permitting North Atlantic model. The statistical analysis of the ensemble allows us to characterize the space-time structure of the perturbations on the ocean variables; the focus is on sea surface height and sea surface temperature. The ultimate goal is to provide an estimate of the covariances of the model errors due to the atmospheric perturbations. This work is in progress and first results are presented here.
