DELIVERING LANDFILL GAS TO 3 CUSTOMERS FROM A SINGLE LANDFILL

In Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, DTE Biomass Energy developed a system to deliver landfill gas to three customers simultaneously. However, each customer has different requirements with respect to their equipment's operating pressures, energy demand, and time of use. After all of the theoretical calculations, the field staff worked with each customer to determine how to set the pressure operating points in order that each customer can come online without interrupting service to the other customers. And, conversely, go offline without causing pressure swings that cause a service interruption. This paper discusses the challenges and solutions.
