Sodium sulphate, ammonium sulphate, sodium chloride, malic acid and urea are granulatedin a batch fluidised bed under different experimental conditions. The granule growth isfound to follow first-order kinetics, with the growth coefficient being principally influenced bythe concentration and the flow rate of the solution, the initial charge of the material and thematerial characteristics. The temperature of the fluidising air and provision of a mechanicalstirrer in the fluidised bed have marginal influence on the growth rate of granules.
