摘要

Partition function is an important physical parameter in various plasma calculations, but how to get the value of partition function is complicated. This paper describes the calculation methods of various partition functions as translational partition function, electronic partition function, rotational partition function, vibrational partition function and nuclear partition function, gives out different methods for different objects as atoms、 molecules and ions, recommends relevant important literatures and illustrates with detail calculation example. It is a good reference for research in gas discharge.
