摘要

Multiple restriking overvoltage of vacuum switches in inductive load interruption has high steepness. It can make uneven distribution on the load coil, and cause threat to the insulations between the coil turns. Tests were performed to investigate how high frequency magnetic rings influence the steepness of the transients produced by breaking down a vacuum gap. It was showed that magnetic rings of amorphous material on a conductor can notably increase its inductance and make effective suppression on the steepness of the vacuum restriking overvoltage.
